The Albuquerque International Sunport is a world-renowned, full-service facility that welcomes more than six million travelers per year. Albuquerque International Sunport handled 6,487,276 passengers in 2006. The count of passengers at the Sunport has seen a average per year increase of 2% over the last 15 years. ABQ's freight center moved 32,879 tons of cargo in 2006. There were 192,520 takeoffs and landings, or an average of 527 per day, in 2006 at ABQ: 73,953 by major airlines; 43,440 by commuter airlines, 30,747 by military aircraft; and 44,380 by general aviation aircraft.
