The Hermosillo maquilas also rely upon Nogales - based distributorships of border wide companies. Two tool and die shops are present, metal stamping can be obtained from existing machine shops, and electrical components could be obtained through air freight of trucking and warehousing. Lack of plastic injection and circuit board manufacturers would inhibit electronic operations. The Ford Motor plant utilizes support and services from its sister operations in Cd. Chihuahua.
