US Industry Description
The United States holds a comparative
advantage over both Mexico and Canada in the trucking industry, largely due to
the industry's use of advanced technology (satellite tracking, global positioning
systems, and Electronic Data Interchange systems) and a highly efficient cost
management system. The United States is in position to have an overpowering
presence in the Mexican market and will provide stiff competition for the Canadian
trucking firms. Also advantageous for the US is its central geographical position
relative to the other two countries.
