El Paso has over 20 private training institutions,
providing training in a wide range of occupations. Some of these include electronics,
technical, medical, and health-related occupations, computer and office operations,
truck driving, warehouse occupations, HVAC, auto technicians, and cosmetology. Some of
these private training institutions also offer customized training for local business.
A number of registered apprenticeship programs
exist in El Paso, including tool and die, mold making, and industrial maintenance at the
EPCC Advanced Technology Center, and union sponsored programs in building trades.
Several local training institutions offer
customized training. These trainers serve business and industry with employee training
in dozens of areas, from technical training to office skills to basic English and math.
