Cultural Highlights
El Paso is the cultural center of the Southwest,
enriched for more than four centuries by contributions from Native Americans,
Spanish settlers, Europeans, and Asians. The city's international flavor is
apparent in the variety of cultural facilities and events, 11 museums, more
than 35 art galleries, and 28 resident visual artists of national acclaim.
Ballet El Paso, Ballet Folklorico, El Paso Pro-Musica,
the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, the Mission Trail and the El Paso Museum of
Art are just a few of the offerings in the cultural spectrum. The El Paso
Planetarium, insights Science Museum, community theaters, the El Paso Opera
Company, Music Under the Stars and Viva El Paso (one of the country's largest
outdoor theater productions) are just a few of the many available entertainment
and educational possibilities.

Chamizal National Memorial
El Paso has 166 parks. In and around El Paso,
your family can take advantage of 14 swimming pools, 56 baseball diamonds,
1 amusement park, 1 water slide, 2 auto racetracks, 5 horse stables, or
3 miniature golf courses.
Americana Museum of Southwest Cultural and History
"Art and Legacy of a Vanished People"
includes prehistoric artifacts from four sedentary cultures.
Bridge Center for Contemporary Art
With a primary focus, of bringing art
into the schools, the Bridge Center offers summer workshops for teens along with
visual arts, literary arts and children's educational programs.
El Paso Museum of History
Displays tell the story of the
history of El Paso from 1581 to the present.
Fort Bliss Museum
Rich in military significance,
the Fort Bliss museums recount this history beginning in 1857.
War Eagles Air Museum
A grand collection of fully
restored flyable historic aircraft of the World War II and Korean Conflict eras.
Wilderness Park Museum
Life-size dioramas and exhibits
of Native Americans.
Border Patrol Museum
Rotating exhibits highlight
the Border Patrol's aspect of fulfilling their mission, such as firearms,
and smuggling techniques.
El Paso Holocaust Museum
Displays include a replica of a
railroad car that transported Jews, aerial view of death camps and more.
